Boulet Brothers confirm ‘Dragula’ Halloween special to premiere this month!
The Boulet Brothers have confirmed an exciting Dragula Halloween special set to premiere this month! The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Resurrection will launch on AMC Networks’ horror streaming service Shudder on Tuesday, October 20.
The two-hour special, which is part-horror film, part-documentary and part-reality competition show, is the first spin-off from their groundbreaking drag series The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula.
Competitors from all three seasons of Dragula return to compete against one another in a Halloween-themed competition. The special will also see the brothers travel across America for in-depth conversations with each artist about where they live and work, and audiences will also get to see their process as they create their unique and spooky looks.
All competitors will have to conceptualize and design three original Halloween-inspired looks and introduce them with performances that will be filmed at creepy locations, which include an abandoned Georgia train station and a haunted mansion in the woods of North Carolina. The winner will then be “resurrected” and asked to return to compete on the upcoming fourth season of Dragula as a main competitor. They will also scoop a $20,000 cash prize!
“We’re so excited to be bringing this special to life, and even more excited that it’s happening just in time for Halloween,” stated the Boulet Brothers.
“The format is something incredibly different and it truly presents drag in an innovative way that has never been seen on TV before. It’s easily the best content we have ever produced, and the highest level of drag that TV audiences have ever seen. We are so proud of the cast and crew who made this happen, and we’re thrilled to be partnering with Shudder to produce it.”
