Bearrison Street Fair Returns to San Fran this October
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Inc.®️, (SPI) in collaboration with The Bears of San Francisco (BOSF), are excited to announce the fourth annual Bearrison Street Fair, returning to San Francisco on October 19, 2024. A queer street fair with a carnival theme, attendees will discover a day inviting creativity and playfulness surrounded by music, dance, food, competitions, and more. Join the festivities of bear-flavored merriment for all bodies, all shapes, all sizes, and importantly — all identities.
Set in the Leather and LGBTQ Cultural District in SoMa, Bearrison Street Fair is “A Fair For Every Bear.” SPI and BOSF’s goal for Bearrison Street Fair is an inclusive event for adult members of the LGBTQ+ community by promoting body positivity and cultural diversity for all, fostering a supportive and welcoming bear scene.
For 2024, Bearrision Street Fair continues the established focus on burly entertainment, with new contests, live art, and more to delight attendees. Among the variety of food and drink options will be live music, performances, and DJs. Come and experience the only Deadlift Competition in the world with a drag queen emcee, a dance routine from the hosts, the inspiring lifting itself, and a butts competition to wrap everything up! All genders are welcome to compete in the event. Also returning to 2024 is the increasingly popular Full Queer Wrestling, full of over-the-top antics and campy humor, with queer wrestlers from all over the United States traveling to compete.
In addition, fairgoers will find several returning competitive activities, including a drag competition, twerking contest, and the hugely popular beard contest, which includes traditional and creative categories so the naturally and unnaturally bearded can compete. Bearrision also seeks to provide a platform for artists and is excited to showcase live art, an art gallery, and live sketch drawing opportunities for the creatively inclined. Also returning are several homegrown midway carnival games, and circus performers will be showcasing their talents of juggling and more to attendees.
