Bearland’s Return to Guadalajara and 2024 Schedule of Events
After the success of Bearland 2023 in Guadalajara and the unforgettable Haunted Bears Halloween Party in Mexico City, we are thrilled to announce the return of Bearland for a brand-new edition from May 2-5, 2024. Prepare to immerse yourself in an epic weekend of six epic parties with hundreds of handsome bears and friends in the heart of Guadalajara, Mexico! This year the event is partnering with the Holiday Inn & Suites Centro Historico to be their host hotel, with excellent rates including breakfast exclusively for our Bearland attendees. First on the agenda, and hosted by Barby Boy Xxtar, will be the “Flower Power Bears” Welcome Party on May 2nd at El Jardin de Pichina, a cantina-style patio popular with the local crowd in Guadalajara, featuring music by Benjamin Koll who will be playing a selection of feel-good anthems from the 70’s and all-time pop favorites. Wristband sales and pick-ups will be available at this party.
On Friday night, Bearland & QBO’s Retro Party “Sissy That Bear” will take over the main room of the newly renovated Babel Club. With a huge dance floor, state of the art sound, lighting and LED screens, it has been a staple of the Guadalajara club scene for years and has been rated one of the best gay clubs in Mexico. Jose Spinnin Cortes, one of the most experienced DJ’s in the Mexican scene and a favorite of the bears, will play a special retro set with anthems from the 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s in addition to some Latin & Spanish pop.
On Saturday afternoon, Mad.Bear Spain will join the Bearland festivities for the “Mad.Bear Pool Party” at Quinta Mariam, a beautiful terrace on the outskirts of the city with a heated pool, a professional sound system and a DJ set by Benjamin Koll. Benjamin has played at BeefDip Bear Week, Bigger Vegas and at the last edition of Bearland, so the music selection of dance and pop hits from all eras is guaranteed to keep you grooving all day long!
When night falls, there will be the QBO BearToy Underwear Party at La Gozadera. This time Bearland will take over the whole complex with 2 dance areas and 3 floors. On the first floor you’ll get the full Latin-Mexican party experience with DJ Andy Strap, the resident DJ of Mr. Flamingo’s in Puerto Vallarta playing Latin music and pop.
On the second and third floor of La Gozadera dress codewill be enforced, so come prepared with your underwear, singlets, jockstraps, boxers, harnesses or anything that helps you beat the heat because be warned, it does get hot! (clothing check available on the 2nd floor). The music will be provided by Guadalajara’s rising star DJ Nalgaroth! His unique style and blend of mainstream, urban, dance, top 40 and mash-ups has been a breath of fresh air in the party scene and a new favorite amongst the bears!
Sunday at noon there will be the Bear Brunch Sauna Party (limited capacity, only included in the diamond bracelet or paid at the door on the day of the event), held at Renacer Day Spa, one of Guadalajara’s most popular gay bathhouses. It has a multi-level complex with sauna, steam rooms, jacuzzi, solarium, snack bar, showers, and they have a wide arrange of services and treatments available for you at extra cost. This is the perfect party to relax, unwind and get ready for our closing party.
On Sunday night, Babel Club will open its doors to welcome all the bears to their “Middle Room”, an intimate dance floor with amazing sound and lighting systems to host RITUAL, Bearland’s Leather & Fetish Black Party. Dress in leather, fetish, latex, rubber, puppy play, S&M or anything black. Music will be provided by Jose Spinnin Cortes, whom has played at several Bear events such as Chicago Bear Pride, Mexico City Bear Pride, BeefDip Bear Week PV, Mad.Bear Spain and Fort Lauderdale Bears in the Alley. He has played all over the world and his productions have been on the playlists of DJs such as Chris Cox, Tracy Young, Peter Rauhofer, Thomas Gold and Junior Vasquez.
Joining him on the decks will be DJ & Producer Barry Huffine. He’s one of the resident DJs at the Eagle Wilton Manors and is a regular at Bear events like Tidal Wave and MegaWoof America. Along with Jose and Zhana Roiya they just released a brand-new version of Jody Watley’s “Looking For a New Love” that is already making waves in clubland, so get ready for a night of dark, sexy beats; performances and sweaty men.
