Bearishly Talented Filmmaker Mark Schwab Releases Film “Exteriors” on Dekkoo
Exteriors, the newest film from beary talented writer and director Mark Schwab makes its debut on Dekkoo today!
From Diamond in the Rough Films, Exteriors tells the story of three gay men who each find themselves in very modern relationship issues through three separate coincidences: Wyatt learns that his best friend Logan is unknowingly falling in love with his ex, while Jason is shocked to learn the owner of the pool he’s cleaning is the man he fell in love with over a one-night stand eight years earlier and finally, therapist Peter Lesh has become dangerously obsessed with his client Lex who tells him he’s just met the man of his dreams.
The film is a sequel of sorts to Schwab’s prior work Brotherly Lies which was reviewed by our sister publication Queer Forty. Exteriors picks up on the lives of three of the main players in Brotherly Lies, though in unrelated storylines to the original.
“Exteriors represents a different kind of storytelling for me. After such a positive experience making and distributing Brotherly Lies, I became interested in the idea of having some of those same characters involved with new situations and characters” said Schwab. “Inspired by Ryûsuke Hamaguchi’s anthology Wheel of Fortune and Fantasy, I set about applying the ideas of coincidence and past experiences manifesting themselves into present lives with three separate stories of three gay men and their connections to three of the characters from Brotherly Lies.”
The cast features a cast of cubbish cuties and daddies including Jose Fernando as Kenny, Julian Goza as Jason and Peter Stickles from The Lair as Dr. Lesh.
“It’s proven to be a very satisfying creative experience. I really loved revisiting “Lex”, “Kenny” and “Shane” and was so fortunate that Pano Tsaklas, Jose Fernando and Jacob Betts were excited to come back and recreate their characters anew as they grappled with new characters and stories” said Schwab.
He continued “Even though Exteriors can be perfectly enjoyable as a stand-alone feature anthology, I must admit that pairing it with Brotherly Lies does bring a subtle and special experience if you give yourself over to it. I’m extremely proud and excited to share it with you.”
