Aussie Bears Celebrate Sydney Mardi Gras

Sydney’s pop-up Bear Bar is back bigger than ever to celebrate 40 years of Mardi Gras.

Produced by the guys behind the popular Australian dance party Honey, it has returned to Oxford Street in the heart of Sydney’s gay neighbourhood of Darlinghurst.

Organiser Jonny Bastin says: “Expect 9 days of fun and entertainment, eye catching art and charity fundraising.”

This is the 4th time the bar has popped-up during the world famous Mardi Gras festival and Bastin says it will again be the focal point of the Australian Bear community during the Mardi Gras celebrations.

“The bar has become so popular that we’re spreading to two floors; we’ll have DJs most nights including Bret Law and Corey Craig from the USA and Aussie comedian Dean Arcuri from Melbourne.”

Visitors to Sydney will be well catered for with special daytrips and a wine-tasting event.

Festivities wrap up with a massive Mardi Gars Parade Party on March 3rd, overlooking Oxford Street with great views of the parade.
