A Grimoire of Lust and Magick: A New Art Book for Gay Bears
Get ready to add a new spellbook to your collection. Codex Carnalis, a bold and uncensored art book by queer illustrator and chaos magician Vasco Brighi, is now live on Kickstarter. This isn’t your typical art book; it’s a deep dive into a dark, erotic universe where hairy, bearded men are celebrated as demons, beasts, witches, and sacred icons of lust and love.

Vasco Brighi, also known as Copper Head, is a queer artist based in Bologna who has created a stunning work that merges queerness, desire, masculinity, magick, and mythology. The book, developed in collaboration with his partner, Golem, is a powerful mix of an erotic spellbook, a visual ritual, and a personal archive of a queer artist’s vision.

The full-length book contains over 100 pages of raw, sensual, and magical illustrations—many of which have never been seen before. Brighi describes it as more than just a book, calling it “a ritual object. A spell, a hypersigil. A celebration of queer bodies and the myths we create for ourselves.”

Codex Carnalis is being supported by Berlin-based LGBTQ+ publisher Moom Comics and is set to be printed in early Winter 2025. The Kickstarter campaign offers a variety of rewards, including the printed book, a PDF edition, exclusive art prints, and bundles for collectors. You can also snag other queer titles from the Moom Comics catalog.

This is a must-have for anyone who appreciates the intersection of queer art, magick, and the raw, sensual power of the bear community.
Please note: This book is uncensored and intended for adult audiences only.
