Happy new year! To celebrate the arrival of the 20s, we have gathered together 20 of the best bear events in the Americas to look forward to in 2020!
From New York to Orlando, and from Canada to Mexico, these bear events all offer something unique and awesome for the global bear community. Plus, it’s a great way to explore other cities!

January 24-27: Ottawa Bear Weekend, Ottawa, ON, Canada
This year’s Mr. Ottawa Bear 2020 weekend promises to be the best one yet! Featuring bear events all over the city and an action-packed competition with some amazing live entertainment from local artists, silent auctions and a cash bar with all profits going to an amazing charity: Capital Rainbow Refuge.

Jan 26 – Feb 2nd: Beef Dip, Puerta Vallarta, Mexico
Celebrated for almost 15 years, Beef Dip is one of the most interesting bear weeks in the world. Eight days of daily activities, such as pool parties, night parties, clubbing, karaoke, surprise performances, and the now famous Booze Cruise, which are all included on your tag. Join all the fun in one of the most beautiful places in the Pacific Ocean, Puerto Vallarta!

Feb 20-24: International Bear Convergence, Palm Springs, CA
International Bear Convergence (IBC) bills itself as the premiere winter event for Bears and admirers in Palm Springs, California, where thousands of frisky, furry bears, their friends and their admirers will come together to have the time of their lives! The 4-day event will come to life with live entertainment, fun and DJs. They were hugely successful in 2019, and expect more of the same with record-breaking attendance in 2020. February may be cold in some parts of the world, but it’s always hot at IBC!

March 12-15: Dallas Bears’ Texas Bear Round-Up, Dallas, TX
This year, the Dallas Bears’ Texas Bear Round-Up is celebrating 25 years of of hairy, beary fun with TBRU 25: A Roman Holiday. Come join the fur, fun and frolic with tons of events to choose from, including entertainment, games, food, and the TBRU title contest.

April 16-20: Big Boy Pride, Orlando, FL
This year, Big Boy Pride, the leading event for bears, cubs, chubs and big men of color, is turning 10! For a decade, Big Boy Pride has celebrated the community with a weekend packed full of cocktail parties, pool parties, entertainment, games and many other activities that foster brotherhood.

April 17-19: Atlanta Bear Pride, Atlanta, GA
Atlanta Bear Pride is celebrating six years of providing quality events to the Southern Bear community! Join them for three days of bear themed events celebrating the diversity of Atlanta’s Bear culture and the Southeastern Bear community.

April 23-27: Bears, Bikers & Mayhem, Gettysburg, PA
Hailed as the biggest and best event in the U.S. for bears and admirers, and the first and largest event in the U.S. to combine the Bear, Leather, Fetish, Motorcycle and Puppy communities, Bears, Bikers & Mayhem is a guaranteed good time! May 14-17: The Urban Bear Weekend, New York, NY

June 4 – 7 : Tidal Wave, Orlando, FL
Tidal Wave, now in its 14th year, is back again this June! Jun 25-28: BearMex Bear Pride Festival, Mexico City, Mexico
BearMex Bear Pride takes place during the Mexico City Gay Pride festivities over 4 days, and includes the “BearMex” contingent at the pride parade! Combine this with the election of a hot new Mr BearMex, and it makes for an exciting, hot summer in Mexico City!

July 27 – August 3: Lazy Bear, Guerneville, CA
Lazy bear now in its 24th year, Lazy Bear is one of the best events for a relaxing fun-filled week. Billing itself as the biggest, hairiest, burliest, craziest, laziest fundraising event on the planet, this event not only creates a great space for the bears to hang out and have fun, it also raises significant money for charitable causes, having raised over two million dollars since they started. Sept 3 – 7 2020: Leibear Weekend, Honolulu, HI
LeiBear weekend is an annual 5-day event hosted by the Aloha Bears in Hawaii, (On the Island of Oahu) and is one of the busiest gay events taking place on the big island! Hosted by a strong local not-for-profit community group called The Aloha Bears, Leibear Weekend brings big, beautiful men to the big, beautiful islands of the Pacific Coast! Who would want to miss that?

August 27-30: World Bear Weekend, Chicago, IL
World Bear Weekend returns in 2020 to Chicago! Join hundreds of Bears, Cubs and Mama Bears from all over the world for the 3rd annual 4-day weekend at the Congress Plaza Hotel for an action-packed itinerary full of exciting surprises! This year’s World Bear Weekend will also feature the first ever World Pet contest, for pups, kittens, ponies, and other pets.

September 1-7: The Big Bayou, New Orleans, LA
The newest event on our list, The Big Bayou, is a chub, bear, chaser international conference and social gathering of gay men of size and their admirers and returning to New Orleans during Southern Decadence! New Orleans is known around the world for its festive and sexy atmosphere, vibrant music and nightlife, and spicy food, so what better city to host an event for saucy, sexy bears?
A mixing pot of French, African and American cultures, it is sure to have something for bears from all over the world! Experience all the food, fun, comedy and entertainment the Big Bayou has to offer, as they welcome special guests Brian Justin Crum, Tom Goss and Anthony Desamito!

September 4 -7: Convergence, St. Louis, MO
Convergence is where it all started for Bears, Chubs, Cubs and Chasers! For the last 38 years, the Big Gay Men’s Organization (BGMO) has hosted many events around the U.S. This year, they head to St. Louis for a Sci-Fi, futuristic-themed weekend! With events such as JABBA’s Hut Dance Party, and the Back To The Future Welcome Party, Convergence is sure to be entertaining and futuristic bear voyage!

Oct 22-25: Bear Bust XXX, Orlando, FL
Wow! The Daddy of all bear events, Bear Bust, is heading into its 30th year and is as strong as ever! Older than even Provincetown Bear Week, and loaded with tons of entertainment and fun, and featuring events such as the Mr. Perky Butt Contest and the Bear Skn Underwear Auction, this is a bear run you cant afford to miss!

October 28-November 1: Key West Bear Weekend, Key West, FL

December 2020: Midwest Bearfest, Indianapolis, IN
Midwest Bearfest will be returning for its 27th year of fun and fur! Every December, Midwest Bearfest helps wrap up the year in a big way with an exciting, furry and festive event. With record-setting attendance and enough food, fun and entertainment for the large and merry, Midwest Bearfest is the perfect way to celebrate over two decades of furry fun!
