Bear World Magazine Awards Nominees Revealed!

We are proud to present the nominees for our first ever Bear World Magazine Awards taking place later this year!

As we announced last month, we at Bear World Magazine will be holding our inaugural awards ceremony in October of this year in New York City, sponsored by GrowlrApp and mistr. Since we are celebrating out 10th year in publication, we thought it the best way to honor our past while simultaneously looking towards the future of the bear community.

So many people have had such a major impact on bear culture, and while we wish we could honor them all, we feel the awards are a good start to acknowledge all of the people who have advanced our community and our visibility to the mainstream media and queer community. If your favorite person, event, or performer isn’t nominated this year, never fear, we are aiming to make this an annual occurrence so everyone gets to shine.

In the coming weeks and months we will be doing features on each Bear World Magazine Award category, highlighting the nominees and their work. We have already done a feature on Ali Lopez, the winner of the first Bear World Icon Award and will be publishing a feature soon with Adam Rodriguez-Routt, the first recipient of our Trailblazer Award!
